Each and every trail the K.S.A. builds and maintains is considered a “multi-use trail”.  In addition to snowmobiling, there is a wide variety of other activities that we consider a welcome sight on the trails.  Dog sledding, skiing, hiking, biking, horse riding, ATVing, just to name a few.  In addition to being multi-use, most of our trails are either a part of the Trans Canada Trail or directly connect to it.

The Klondike Snowmobile Association is a volunteer, non-profit organization formed in 1981 to represent snowmobilers in the Yukon Territory of Canada.  Our mission is to “protect, develop and enhance the sport and recreation of snowmobiling and snowmobiling related activities in the Yukon.”

The K.S.A. is currently not involved with any racing or competitions.  We have nothing against some friendly competition, however at this time we simply don’t have enough volunteers to handle the extra administrative requirements nor the funding to pay for the higher insurance costs.

The Klondike Snowmobile Association strives to be open, transparent, and welcoming to everyone. We are always willing to share our trails, knowledge and resources. Anyone is welcome to join us any time and our meetings are open to the public.  We also rely on feedback from our members and the general public, so please do contact us with any comments, suggestions, additions or corrections.

We currently operate three “trail steward” snowmobiles and one side by side on tracks with a variety of drag behind trail grooming equipment.  We also operate two ATVs and our side by side on wheels for summer trail work.  We keep a small stock of lumber and signage, along with some basic tools, however many of our volunteers generously bring their own tools and equipment when doing trail work.  All of our equipment is volunteer operated, and the operating and maintenance costs are covered by membership fees and donations from local businesses.

• We help build, sign, maintain, and groom multi-use trails throughout the Yukon.
• We represent and advocate for Yukon snowmobilers at local, territorial, national and international levels.
• We organize group snowmobile rides and activities.
• We help keep Yukoners informed about Yukon snowmobiling news, current trail conditions, and more.
• We actively support and promote snowmobile safety and education programs.
• We are the official Trans Canada Trail Agent for the Yukon Territory.
