A clear vission
The vision of the Yukon NGO HUB Society is a strong and well-supported community of NGOs and service providers, connected and working together in collaborative and innovative ways on a journey toward a more resilient, enduring, and empowered Yukon NGO community.
Support and amplify the value and impact of Yukon's NGOs
Our mission is to support and amplify the value and impact of Yukon’s NGOs and service providers by providing an inclusive and vibrant space, along with shared access to needed services and supports, that will foster opportunities and space for collaboration, partnerships and mutual support.
The Virtual HUB
The virtual HUB is currently being developed. It will be a portal that provides online access to shared resources and services. It will be a platform that facilitates networking among NGOs and professionals, helps NGOs gain access to training opportunities, share information on best practices and enables non-profit staff and volunteers to share successes and challenges.
The portal will allow organizations to easily share templates, documents, technology as well the various human resources, such as HR staff, an administrative assistant, and bookkeeper that NGOs typically access at more cost-effective rates thanks to costs being shared amongst the entire membership.
The Physical HUB
Plans include the physical HUB being located in a physical building, including the virtual HUB service. The two HUBS will be housed in a dynamic three to four-story building (the final design will depend on the NGO Hub space requirements) that serves and supports the over 600 non-profit societies that operate in Yukon.
The current plans envision that this new building will be home to the physical HUB, situated on two or three of the floors in the building. The aim is to have the top floor home to one large or a few non-profit organizations who share a common objective or provide support and services to a similar community.
Plans for the first floor include a new Gather Restaurant as well as a commercial / social enterprise that could incorporate space where artists and crafts people can sell their handmade art and crafts.
An essential sector
Currently, the Yukon is home to over 600 non-profit organizations that provide a variety of services, programs, and events to support Yukoners across the territory. These organizations support industry, health, education, deliver front line social services, build community, and produce an array of arts and cultural events that contribute greatly to the dynamic and rich culture of our Yukon.
