We commend the Yukon Theatre for Young People (YTYP), which was a finalist in the Arts & Culture, Health $ Wellness youth category in 2023. The YTYP had proposed to hold a 3-day Yukon Youth Theatre Festival in early 2025.
The Youth Festival Committee of YTYP believes firmly in the transformative power of theatre and engaging in the arts and have experienced first-hand the positive outcomes to their own mental health when they were able to participate in theatre activities during their own high school experience. The goal of the project was to provide the young people with an opportunity to experience the benefits of the performing arts, and the positive impacts the arts can have on our health and well-being.
The HUB commends all northern groups who compete for this enviable prize to celebrate the North for the North by Northerners.
